Edward H. Frazelle, PH.D. is CEO and Executive Director of
Logistics Resources International and founder of The Logistics Institute at
Georgia Tech. The Logistics Institute is the world's largest center for
logistics education and research. As an educator, Dr. Frazelle has trained
more than 12,000 professionals in the principles of world-class logistics; as
a consultant he has assisted more than 100 corporations and government
agencies in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Japan, and South America in their pursuit
of world-class logistics; as an author he has authored, co-authored, and/or
contributed to seven books and over twenty articles on logistics including
World-Class Warehousing and A Blueprint for World-Class Logistics. Dr. Frazelle's achievements have been recognized by the
Council of Logistics Management's Doctoral Research Grant, the Warehousing
Education and Research Council's Burr Hupp
Fellowship, the Material Handling Institute's MHEF Fellowship, the Institute of Industrial Engineer's Armstrong Award, and Kodak's
Educational Grant Award. Dr. Frazelle is a doctoral graduate in Industrial
and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a
Valedictorian graduate in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University
Hugh D. Kinney is President
and General Manager of Logistics Resources International. He is a founder and former Managing
Partner of SysteCon, the logistics consulting
practice of Coopers & Lybrand. In that position Mr. Kinney has over a
decade of experience managing a multi-million dollar logistics consulting
practice operating in a variety of industries in the U.S., Europe, and Japan. Mr. Kinney has individually
directed more than 150 successful logistics projects. He holds a degree in
Industrial & Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech and is a member of the
Council of Logistics Management, the Warehousing Education and Research
Council, and the Institute of Industrial Engineers.
Juan F. Rubio is Vice President
of Logistics Resources International and has responsibility in the areas of
Logistics and Supply Chain Strategy, Distribution Network Analysis and
Design, Facility Layout and Planning, and Logistics and Supply Chain
Information System strategic analysis and master planning. Prior to joining LRI, he spent over
fifteen years working in the management of various Logistics and Supply Chain
projects in a variety of industries.
Mr. Rubio has participated in consulting engagements involving a
variety of business, operations, and systems issues challenging manufacturing
and distribution companies today, including Customer Relationship Management
(CRM), Supply Chain Execution (SCE), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and
Warehouse Management (WMS). His project
experience ranges from strategy and concept development through detailed
design, vendor selection, and implementation support. Mr. Rubio holds a
bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He is an active member of the Council
of Logistics Management (CLM) and the Warehousing Education and Research
Council (WERC). He is on the
Georgia Tech Logistics Management Series professional education faculty and
is a frequent speaker at The Logistics Institute at Georgia Tech.
